As a Graduate of Burlington County College, majoring in Graphic Design, I have spent the last 20 years devoting my career to the creation of art and media design. My love of the visual arts combined with my love of computer has lead me to spend time in as many design fields as possible from classic print ads to sign design to 3D virtual world design.
I have spent much of my life avoiding the "main stream" and preferred to let world experiences guide me in my path. I have spent time not only working for companies but also running them and managing them. Growing up I was taught the value of hard work from the very beginning and that has been a key in defining who I am. I started my first job as a busser in the restaurant industry at the age 15. I eventually worked my way up to management while doing freelance designs and attending school. I eventually moved to the sign industry where I learned to take my graphic skills to new levels designing for a much larger scale than I had ever done before. Within my first year I was able to capture the title of "employee of the month" for the entire franchise. After a few years of doing sign design I thought it was time to take a break in my career and do some traveling. Taking 6 months to explore the US and Canada I eventually ended my journey in San Francisco where I chose to embark on yet another journey. This journey was an internal journey of self discovery and at age 29 I decided that I needed to transition. This is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make but knowing that I was not meant to continue to live in the gender of my birth I embarked on the journey of becoming the person that I always felt inside. My transition took my life in new directions as I involved myself in the TransGender community, speaking out on TransGender rights and needs. I soon became the Outreach Co-chair for TransGender San Francisco where I had the unique opportunity to speak to Sheriff Departments, Police Departments, Police Academies, Colleges, Universities, High Schools and more. After 3 years in this position I then took over the role of Vice-President for the group. I also had the opportunity to run and win the title of Miss TGSF 2007. My experiences have taught me many things and the roads I have chosen to take have not been easy. The roads have taken twists and turns but they have all lead to the person I am today, strong, intelligent, creative woman who knows what she wants from life and how to achieve it. |
